Frequently asked questions.

QR ordering
Do guests need an app?

No. Guests scan the QR code on the table and the menu opens straight away in their phone's browser. There is no need to create an account.

How does QR ordering work?

Every table has a QR code. The guest scans it with their phone camera and the menu opens in the browser, in Dutch, English or Chinese. The whole table orders on one bill. The order goes straight to the right receipt printer or kitchen screen, and guests pay at the table.

What is the difference between QR ordering, a table tablet and table service?

With QR ordering, guests use their own phone. A table tablet is a fixed tablet on the table, also for guests without a smartphone. Staff take orders with a handheld. All three use the same menu and prices and go into the same POS, so you can use them side by side.

Isn't QR ordering impersonal?

Guests order whenever they want, and your staff walk back and forth less. That leaves more time for the guests. If a guest prefers to order from staff, your team takes the order with a handheld.

Is iButler suitable for All You Can Eat?

Yes. You set the number of rounds, the time limit per table and the maximum number of dishes per person yourself. iButler tracks per table when a new round can start. Dishes go automatically to the right kitchen section, such as sushi, wok or grill.

Can guests read the menu in another language?

Yes. Guests can read the menu in Dutch, English or Chinese.

Can guests order without a smartphone?

Yes. You can place fixed tablets on the tables. Guests order there directly, add dishes or pay. If a guest prefers to order from staff, your staff take the order on a handheld.

Can the table pay separately?

Yes. Guests order together on one bill, but can also each pay separately with their own phone.

Which payment methods work?

iDEAL, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bancontact and credit card.

Does it work with my POS and printers?

iButler QR connects to iButler Kassa. Menu, prices, discounts and orders stay in sync automatically, and orders go to your receipt printers or the kitchen screen. Looking for a different POS, such as Lightspeed or Spont? We supply those too, in combination with iButler.

Can I change the menu and prices myself?

Yes. You change the menu, prices, staff and printers yourself in iButler in the cloud. With iButler Kassa added, the QR menu and the POS stay in sync automatically.

What happens if the internet goes down?

In offline mode, iButler keeps working: QR ordering, the POS, the handheld, the kitchen screen and payment. As soon as the connection is back, everything syncs automatically.

Do you also supply payment terminals?

Yes, through our payment partner Wappay: payment terminals for the till, the table and the terrace.

Can I customise the kitchen tickets?

Yes. For each section you set the language, content and layout of the ticket, including in Chinese.

How quickly can I start?

Within 1 to 5 working days, including installation and training for your staff.

What does it cost?

QR ordering costs a fixed amount per month, excl. VAT, plus a fee per iDEAL transaction. What that comes to for your business depends on what you use and how many tables you have. On the pricing page you can request a custom price.

How do I reach support?

Monday to Friday from 09:15 to 17:00 via 040 711 4761 or info@i-butler.nl. If ordering or payment stops working outside those hours, call the emergency line 040 304 3388, daily from 09:15 to 22:00.

About QR ordering

What is a QR ordering system for hospitality?

Ordering without waiting for staff

With a QR ordering system, guests order at the table themselves. They scan the QR code with their phone, the digital menu opens in the browser and they place their order straight away. No app or account is needed. The order arrives in the POS immediately and goes automatically to the right receipt printer or the kitchen screen.

Order together, pay separately or together

With iButler QR, the whole table orders at the same time, everyone from their own phone, on one shared bill. Guests can pay together or separately, with iDEAL, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Bancontact or credit card. Guests without a smartphone order via a fixed tablet on the table. Prefer to order from staff? Then your staff take the order on a handheld, with the same menu and prices. This works on any device with a browser.

Made for All You Can Eat and Asian restaurants

iButler supports rounds, time limits per table and a maximum number of dishes per person. For each table, iButler records when a round starts and ends and when guests may order again. Dishes go automatically to the right kitchen section and the kitchen screen shows the rounds per table. The menu is multilingual and you print kitchen tickets per section in Dutch, English or Chinese. This makes iButler QR a good fit for sushi, wok and grill restaurants, as well as lunchrooms, terraces and hotels.

Connection to your POS

iButler QR works together with iButler Kassa. Menu, prices, discounts and orders stay in sync automatically, so you never have to enter anything twice. Prefer a Lightspeed or Spont POS? We also supply those, in combination with iButler. Payment terminals for the table are supplied by our payment partner Wappay.
